Battery of Castillitos - Cartagena

The Castillitos Battery is a former Spanish military installation built between 1933 and 1936 to defend access to Cartagena Bay and its strategic naval base. This site houses two high-caliber Vickers guns, capable of launching nearly a ton projectiles over 35 kilometers away. Located in Cabo Tiñoso, about a 20-minute drive from Puerto de Mazarrón, the battery offers spectacular panoramas of the surrounding landscape. Its architecture, which mimics that of a medieval castle, gives it a unique air and reinforces its function as a key point of coastal surveillance.
